Tempit Manufacturing announces launch of Fridge Guard monitoring device

October 7, 2016

WALLED LAKE, MI - Tempit Manufacturing has introduced their first product, the Fridge Guard, via the crowd funding website Kickstarter. Fridge Guard is a non-electronic monitoring device that notifies users when a refrigerator has reached an unsafe temperature for food consumption.

According to CFO and co-developer Rick Mason, the Fridge Guard helps address growing concerns around foodborne illness. “Food safety is a serious issue, with over 5,000 people in the U.S. alone dying from food poisoning each year. Many of those deaths are a direct result of power outages, where consumers were unaware just how long their food has been exposed to unsafe conditions. We saw a glaring hole in addressing this issue, and developed the Fridge Guard to give consumers an easy to use and affordable product to help keep them and their families safe.”

The Fridge Guard will be assembled at Tempit’s manufacturing facility in Flushing, MI. While several hundred units have already been produced, full production is expected to begin by the end of 2016.
